I do not want to go anymore than the already heavy 666 lbs of the Lowrider. I am coming from a sportsbike backround:
The weight of cruisers isn't a big deal. Not like you're going to be doing track days with them. The better ones have very low centers of gravity and transition very well at a street pace. One benefit of the low CoG and additional weight of cruisers is that they tend to stay a lot more planted on windy days than some other styles.
Good point saddlebag. I sure look forward to better wind stability. I have encountered more than my share of nasty winds pushing me around on my 400-500 pound bikes.
I thought the Lowrider handled very well when I took it out 2 different test rides.
Had mine for a month so far. done a bit over 2200Ks so far, 400 this afternoon. l've put FXDC midmounts and risers on it and for me the riding position is just about perfect... The engine seems to have a real sweet spot around 2600 RPM, around about a dollar fifteen in top, perfect cruising speed for me...

Nice looking bike, petefwa. My desire to get one is getting even more intense. I really enjoy my current bike, but I am looking forward to getting my first HD.
I picked one up about 3 weeks ago. My last Dyna was a 91 Sturgis.
Looking forward to some choices in wind screens/fairings when the aftermarket catches up. Also interested in reports of shock swaps, as I'm not thrilled with stock.

This is my first Harley, I picked it up on Monday evening and I have put a couple of hundred miles on it. My previous bikes were Jap or BMW, I traded in a Suzuki sport bike and I am not looking back. I finally get it as to why Harley owners are so fanatically loyal. When I saw the Low Rider I liked the styling but especially the ergos so I took it for a test ride and that sold me. As an added plus, the owner of the Harley dealer I bought from is an enthusiast, she loves motorcycling. The Suzuki dealer I bought my last bike from was a nice enough guy but he sold Honda, Yamaha etc., He could care less about the brands and models he was selling, it was like buying a car and it was all about the deal.
I have been riding for over 40 years so in that time I have owned a number of bikes. I guess that it is fitting that my previous favorite was BMW boxer (soft but a twin). I had that bike for over 10 years and 60k miles so I guess I am a twin cylinder person at heart. 60k miles in 10 years may not sound like much to the hard core but I live in a part of the country with a very short riding season and I missed 2 seasons of riding due to health reasons. I just wish I had considered Harley years ago. My BMW was a twin but the Harley is a v-twin on steroids, no comparison.
