I was impressed with how nimble the bike is despite it's weight. Also the torque is enough to keep me from getting bored with it, unlike my previous VS800 and VS1400 metric cruisers. For a brief second, full throttle in 3rd gave me litrebike flashbacks, but then I hit the rev limiter hehehe.

Added the HD security system, crash bar, removed the reflectors and just installed the kuryakyn under seat plug and play sissy bar setup.

Next mods, maybe some custom pin striping and exhaust/retune...and something to cover up the "low rider" battery box cover...maybe a plain chrome one.

Good to hear from you. Congrads on getting a LR. You chose well. Be sure to keep us updated on your LR experience.

So cool! There's hope for me I guess! You know I live alone and don't see my kids as often as I would like gets lonely so maybe my toy will keep me young! At least at heart!

I'm 58,comparing to sport tourers have owned, the LR is the most comfortable bike I have owned, just returned from a 450 mile weekend with the wife on back, handles great , think you will enjoy yours a lot. just passed 18k miles on mine.

I'd much rather have an engine that makes good power throughout the band than one that comes on like a light switch and signs off half way thru a pass. Besides cams are a lot cheaper and LR are much better looking with a little color contrast.
It would be interesting to see some real world dyno figures on the 103, 110, and 117.

I hope HD offers some paint options for the 2017 LR S. I agree that would be real nice.

I haven't seen much banter here about doing big engine upgrades, but elsewhere, I've read that trying to make these engines powerful ends up scissoring the cranks among other things.
It's kinda silly to throw thousands and even tens of thousands away building up an already very expensive Harley these days if speed is what you crave. One can go buy a 160 hp machine for $10k and get it impounded in a matter of an hour or so, if so inclined. Harleys are about cruising and that 103 is a nice engine for that. Particularly if you want it to last a while.
And they're already hot enough. From what I've seen, that 110 is like sitting atop the third ring of hell. The more power they make, the hotter they gonna be too...
I do wish they would put the higher quality shocks on the LR. Cruise control would be nice too, but thus far I haven't found a ride by wire Harley who's fueling is nearly as good as the cable actuated throttles.

The LR S comes with a slight upgrade in rear shocks. I would love some quality rear shocks on the LR.

Hopped over for the Sporty forum, had my first long trip on my new to me 2014 low rider and I am really loving this bike!

Perfect blend between style, fun, and functionality in my opinion. Threw on the Bassani Mega Power pipes and a stage 1 air cleaner, tuned up with a Dynojet Power Vision. Next up will be some bars.

Good to hear from you. The LR is a great motorcycle. How long have you had yours? Did you buy new or used?

LR looking real good Iron obsessed. If touring is something you do, then a bagger makes sense.
