Finally a break in the hot weather. Riding Thurs, Fri and Sat. With all of my riding, I am struggling to maintain a balance between riding when I can and not putting to many miles on my current LR. Hope to stay under 15000 miles. I strongly believe a LR S is in my future.
Are you doing this for trade value, or something? Just curious.
Yeah, I stop riding at 90*, unless we are going on a highway trip. It is miserable, and the bike hates it. I will hit the 3K mark, very soon.

Yes. I have always sold off my old bikes before getting a new one. This time around I am willing to see what my dealer will give me for it. I have heard plenty of fair trade-in stories.

The bike does not like hot weather. My cut-off is 85. That is the max for me. However, most of my riding is 82 or less.
It will come as no surprise that I really liked the bike. I liked the true mid-mount controls of the LR S better than the standard LR forward mid-mount controls.
Look like the same thing painted black to me.

Yup, they went bassakward on those.

The way many short shift Harleys, I suppose the extra displacement makes them a hair quicker when ridden like that. I had a chance to ride the 2016 in a Wide Glide and that engine sung and pulled nicely all the way to its red line. I think the new cam really helps it breath at higher rpms. At some point, installing massive pistons can't be good on the rest of the engine to run at higher rpm. I'd much rather have an engine that makes good power throughout the band than one that comes on like a light switch and signs off half way thru a pass. Besides cams are a lot cheaper and LR are much better looking with a little color contrast.
Went to dealer Sat to have my kickstand spring replaced. I noticed a few months ago it stopped working. Dealer got a replacement spring and now it is back to working the way it should.
Recently picked up a 2016 FXDL the bike is awesome. Tried several metric cruisers looking for that "sporty" but comfortable feeling for dragging the girlfriend around town and this bike is perfect.
I was impressed with how nimble the bike is despite it's weight. Also the torque is enough to keep me from getting bored with it, unlike my previous VS800 and VS1400 metric cruisers. For a brief second, full throttle in 3rd gave me litrebike flashbacks, but then I hit the rev limiter hehehe.
Added the HD security system, crash bar, removed the reflectors and just installed the kuryakyn under seat plug and play sissy bar setup.
Next mods, maybe some custom pin striping and exhaust/retune...and something to cover up the "low rider" battery box cover...maybe a plain chrome one.
Got my 2016 Harley low rider June 30th. and have 461 miles on it but dealer put 101 miles on it first Beeecause? I had a 120R put on it with recluse clutch and at 461 miles still got 539 miles to go before they can super tune it after 1000 miles on it. But so far I Looove the bike! I agree with comments above and at age 69 It handles great and well balanced rides super great However!!! I get wore out pretty fast on the comfort. Don't know but maybe a nice cruiser would be second option something with more comfort. I ride around city mostly and some country roads but after 35 to 45 to 60 miles I am washed up! Don't think age anything to do with it do Ya?
P.S. Got to post parts for sale my 2016 NEW dyna 103 motor removed. Factory test miles at 10. never been out of show room.

Don't feel old...I had to slab mine on I-5 from Lynnwood, WA to Vancouver, WA (180 miles) and although the gearing was great for crusing 80mph no problem, my *** definitely went numb though...stopped twice in 2.5 hours to shake my legs out/refuel. I'm only 34 years old, so I don't think age has anything to do with it...LOL.
Since I've put a few more miles on it and ridden 2 up a lot, I think the rear suspension is starting to break in...and I've become more accustomed to the slightly different riding position, no *** numb since.
