It's a good day to play hookie from work and go for a ride. And, maybe when I get home I'll mow the grass.
Wish I had those problems. Would love to be out riding but the weather is a no go and still waiting to hear from my dealer on my starting issue. Dealer picked my bike up last Tues. Spoke to dealer on Fri and was told I do have an electrical issue. Now Wed and have yet to hear from the dealer. Will be calling later today to see what is going on.
That sucks. Sorry to hear about your problems and hope the dealer gets it figured out. I started having a hard start issue a couple months ago myself. Replaced the factory battery with one from Drag Specialties. Slightly higher cranking amps, don't remember what they are exactly. Seems to have solved the issue. Hope it doesn't raise it's head again.

Thanks. Spoke to dealer. They have been in contact with HD regarding the issue. They have experienced it now themselves. Hard to believe that in 2017 one can have such a starting issue. Never had this problem with any of my prior bikes, First street bike was a 1982 Suzuki GS300 that I got in 1982 and it started every time on the first push of the starter. Not sure why my much newer and more expensive HD is having f'n starting issues.

much more sophisticated electronics, but on the bright side, you don't have 4 carbs to sync unlike most of the in-line 4 80s bikes hehehe.
Since my HD dealer has suggested a few times my problem might have something to do with my PV2, I am going to ask the service manager "exactly what do you mean it is the PV2? Are you telling me it is telling the bike to not start? If so, lets tell it not to."
I love how the service department is so quick to blame anything other than anything on the bike made by HD.

Nothing pisses me off faster at dealership than this kind of flippant, ignorant, dismissive BS.
Just ask them if diagnostics are a skill they possess, or if their policy is to brush off anything that sounds to be beyond their skill level. Then ask them if they know of any shops in town that have better mechanics.
Before anyone flames me, you should know that I am a working professional mechanic. Seems most guys in the trade cant figure out what to do anymore unless the computer tells them whats wrong.

Well stated. No one should be flaming you as many of us have experienced the blame something on the bike that is non-HD as the reason for the problem.
The service manager called me and told me my bike was ready. Said they replaced the battery. Plan on asking the guy when we are face-to-face "so it was the battery and not the PV2? Is that right?"
Got my free hour of Geek Squad set up for my two Gopro Hero 5 Black cameras. GS guy set them to record in 720P at 60 frames per second. No reason I need 4K or even 1080. Fills up the memory card way too quick. at 720, I should get 7-8 hours of recording per memory card. GS guy also set both camera to auto loop, which means I will not have to manually erase what is recorded on the memory cards every time they get full. Cameras will just record over the old.
Too many a-holes out there on the roads. Anything goes down, I want video proof.

This sucks man! I'm not sure yo saw my thread last thursday But I took of from work to ride (actually to ride test ride a few different bikes) and my LR wouldn't start. Had it towed and when they were checking it in they found the issue. I forgot to hook the fuel like back up to the tank. I was gonna remove the tank to run the PV2 wire, but decided to run under speedo/tach console and forgot to plug fuel line back in LOL.
Serves me right for thinking of getting rid of the LR
