Unusually for this time of year, the sun came out strong enough to dry the roads and, because we've had rain, most of the salt has been washed to the sides; so I dared to run a couple of work errands on the Low Rider. With the pandemic, there's a lockdown, meaning I can only ride locally, but there are a lot of roads closed for repairs due to the reduction in traffic, and that means I had to take some long detours; so, by choosing routes that maximised the detours I actually rode about 20 miles today. Not much, but it was exhilarating having been unable to ride for weeks due to both the restrictions and the weather. The bike didn't cool quickly enough for me to wash it; hopefully, I'll be able to do that tomorrow, but there wasn't too much salt thrown up so it should be OK. It was so good to be on the bike again.

20 miles sounds pretty good right now. We're at 18" ❄❄ and expect 24-30" before it's over.

That's rough. Hopefully, it won't last too long, although I gather February is your snowiest month?

Wish I could say the same. My next ride will be sometime towards the end of March if I am lucky.

I decided to get a vanity plate for my bike, this is a first for me. In PA we're limited to 5 digits, and everything I could think of was taken. Then I came up with...my initials are DF and the bike is an FXDL, so I combined them and got this. Because of COVID, it took exceptionally long - 6 months and 10 days
Today it finally showed!

That is how it often works out. Many times I have left in the morning (in my car) due to weather conditions and by Noon it is clear and 20 degrees warmer but I am at work.

nice. I’m waiting on a plate and was starting to get pissed because my check hasn’t been cashed in five weeks. Now that doesn’t seem long at all.
