Catch can really is the way to go. I had no idea when I got my external breather the mess it would cause. Much happier with the can.

How many LR owners are running an external breather vs. a catch can?

Here's one example of that

I can only talk about my own personal experience with both. All that junk that gets collected in the catch can will mist out from the filter. It gets messy. Let me know what you think after a few thousand miles.

They claim DK customs catch can gives the same results as filter because it needs periotic cleaning.

A catch can filled with straining material and a drain makes it much easier to maintain and cleaner than a filter.

I'm pretty ****, I'll clean the filter every 2-3K. I also keep the oil about halfway on the dipstick which helps some. We shall see! 🥺

That has been my experience. I used to wipe the filter down after every ride and could not believe how much gunk I was wiping off. Notwithstanding that, the underside of my LR was really nasty. Detail guy at dealership spent some time getting it all off.
