So I recently changed my bars out, new indicator controls.
Everything went smooth, rode it for a few days, noticed the brake light remained on. Opened up the control and toggled the plunger to see if I could fix it.
It didn't, so I figured it was a cheap switch from hill country customs where I got the bars.
But then it wont start now. Shows red key.
I don't have an alarm system, so I obviously threw a code.
I saw the pinched wire in the housing, it wasn't bad, I made sure it was clear and not touching anything, but its too late.
Any advice?
I don't have any help on the codes, but you obviously have something shorted out. I can't imagine that you would be able to bump start it in this condition. I'm thinking that it's time to pull things back apart...Bummer!
Yes that's what Im thinking as well. Manual is on the way via mail. The pinched wire is obvious when looking at it. No longer pinched but what can I do to possibly fix that?
Code is showing that turn signal area, I can see a wire that has been slightly damaged, but Im trying to figure out what to do to fix it.
Thanks for the help guys, seriously. This board is awesome.
Is there a way to tell the computer to reset?
I think the wire is fixed, but the computer still says Im throwing a code, and not letting the bike start.
Not that I saw, if I really look I see a little copper but Im going to wrap it up with electrical tape and see if that does anything.
My problem is I don't have a dealership anywhere close, and the one that is the closest is the worse place Ive ever seen.
Really high priced, very rude and hard to get a appt.....
Looks like I might be loading my bike into the back of my truck and dealing with them though!
