Horse power and torque........
<Well Wd Gld, you can POST anything you want...Who says it has to be true?
(my d*** is 10" long)--see it is really 11" but who could know that I am not telling the truth?!!
>I'll tell you a secret how I make mine 2' long, I fold it in half!!!
I have a buddy with a stock 883 and I blow his doors off. Cruising speeds are a different story, and to be honest, neither of us have fully run them out (we usually slow up once we hit 100), so maybe his would go faster in the long run, I don't know. Of the line is no comp.
I have to be honest. I have struggled with what to do to try to post better numbers with my bike. i think I came to the conclusion that I am not going to work my motor up because of the reliabilty factor. I need to have a bike that the wife and I can get on and ride without worries of breakdown.
I have been looking at getting a 2nd bike with the horsepower and torque that I would like. The best one I came up with for the price and performance is the Triumph Rocket III. It runs a whopping 147 ft/lb of torque and 140 horsepower completely stock. It also has the cool 240 rear tire with Brembo Brakes for stopping.
That seems to be the direction I need to go.
Good Luck with whatever you choose because your numbers are very respectable and nothing to be ashamed of.
For a 95", 100/100 is good! As far as realiability, built my 03 RKC to 95" - 102hp and 115tq, then put 30,000 miles on it without a glitch. You can really build a strong engine with the right components, and as long as it is tuned right and not relentlessly beat on, they will live a long time.
Also remember that if you are paying someone to tune your bike, he knows how to show you what you want to see, regardless of what the bike is really doing. A dyno operator can change just a few things from the air pressure in the tires to what gear he runs in and show a big variation in numbers, same bike, same dyno.
If you REALLY want to know what your bikes honest horsepower is, get it tuned, then take it to another reputable dyno, and tell them you're not going to tune it, you just want to know what your honest numbers are, no fudging, straight up.
Bet you see a five to ten horsepower/torque drop, unless you have an EXTREMELY honest tuner.
It's very difficult for even honest tuners not to play with the numbers, especially when they are competing with others who WILL play with the numbers, to make them look bad, like they didn't know how to tune your bike.
Anyway, as far as respectable, the bench seems to have been pushed up quite a bit in recent years.
