"need for speed" "push the envelope" "adrenaline rush"
What is funny is people saying they bought a Harley for their need for speed!
spend $4500 on a used Hayabusa or a Kaw ZX14 and at 110 mph you just shifted out of 2nd gear.
130 mph and you can pull the front tire with no clutch.
Want to see how big your ***** are? Twist the happy hand all the way and see how long you can hold it there.
That will get you an adrenaline rush.
I've only ever had my leg over British and American twins, and nothing super fast so I'll need to take your word for that, but I can tell you "adrenalin rush" from a Harley is real!... real to me anyway, so why not to everyone???
where I live there's a stretch of I-40 that drops 1000 ft. fast into a big bumpy sweeper at the bottom... on my Dyna 85-100 depending on how I'm feeling at the time... and with the constant crosswinds there once into the bumpy stuff it can be quite adrenalin producing!... spooky even!... (big Dyna wiggles) were as on my 1200XB Buell at 110-130 or more it's like what bumps? what wind?, just kinda meh... so depends a lot on the bike also...
Thank you for your service Dirtdobber , and heal up quick sir.
If you don't mind me asking. What sanction , and class did you race? I raced for ten years
( not on a professional level ) , but did follow a local promoted sanction around a few states. I can't go to the track for the same reason you mentioned earlier. That bug is a hard one to kill , and it's hard to spectate once you've been down the track!
Get well and ride on, man..I guess at 56 I decided my ***** were not as big as they were when I was 20. I took my ST1300 up to 115 and rode it for about 2 miles. I slowed down and said WTF am I doing? I sold it, and now 70 on my Wide Glide is excitement enough for me. To each his/her own!

I stopped racing in 1972 due to a accident and military service.
Charlie Card was a good friend of mine. I worked at his store for many years. He would pop in and out from time to time. He sponsored me.
I was AMA and NHRA sponsored by Charlie Card.
Charlie Card?
he may be gone but he will never be forgotten by the racing world.
Due to my age I was kept close to home almost always. Nashville, Atlanta, bowling green, Chattanooga.
Charlie card was one of the coolest guys I have ever known.

Regarding comments on "speed, rush and adrenalin": To me they are all relevant to the person. Personally, I get that feeling when running up to 80 mph on my dyna. I will confess to the fact that my ***** are way too small to ride any sport bike 130 in 2nd gear. The power those bikes have is very intimidating to me, but I will say that I do not condemn folks or make fun of them for riding them at 130 or even 190. If that is what they like, so be it. We all know that we can be crippled or die anytime we ride and that can happen sitting still at a red light. I say let's chill.
