Before installing my FP3, I downloaded the app on my phone, then I did the tutorial and looked at the FAQs. What I didn't do was pull my headlight fuse while doing the install on the bike, this step saves the battery from being pulled down so much (dual headlights on a Road Glide) and I have learned to keep the tender plugged in. I didn't have any connectivity issues using my Galaxy S7 and 4LG and going through Bluetooth. My map download took about 10 minutes considering the ignition on/off cycles. Good luck in your trials with the FP3.

Very disappointed with Fp3,IMHO I would not recommend it,nothing but problems for myself so far, which is disappointing I seem to be alone with having issues, regarding the bike that is lol.
I actually gave up and put it back in the box.Sucks I can't even sell it now.

I download map for my cycle 3 times now and 2 auto tunes 1 HR EACH,some things improve other degrade,my bike seems better at the higher speeds but crap at lower speeds,at start I noted engine light comes on little gas it disappears never happen before,it was suggested to me to autotune at idle,,but idle fluctuates so I sat there for a while never turned green, how can it learn if it idles between 900-1100 rpm I can see the needle moving up and down in this zone. Also have problems with accelerating from stop its seems to want to stall and have to give it more gas and it sucks gas now.Lots of popping on downshift ,Adjusted decel pop to light stopped for a while but coming back slowly, gas consumption jumped,so autotune 2hrs ,decel pop, downloaded map 3 times really it's more complicated than this?

Really not impressed at all, much cheaper just to dyno, should be a simple plug and play,I mean issues with just map download before even doing auto tune WTF.

I have a 2010 softail deluxe V&H exhaust, kuryakyn ac,nothing extraordinary .Forget contacting V&H you could wait 45 mins if your lucky, they ask for your email but never follow up.

Did all my homework checked here for comments on FP3 pulled the trigger but man what a mistake, now I am contemplating just loading original bike map and screw it waste more time than riding.

ONE BIG THING V&H NEEDS IS A EXPLANATION GUIDE,my fp3 does not have apply it has preview or close auto tune, press preview it shows a graph if you swipe the screen there is another graph ?? which is the good one?????? so I pick one and apply does its thing press done, then wants to apply base map WTF man I'm confused .

Just to fked up for me,DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ONE GUYS OPINION.This one has been more trouble than it's worth and no help from V&H.

Not for nothing, but it seems like your opinion changed quite a bit. From the posts below it sounds like you had it working well and messed with it a little too much. Maybe I'm wrong but that's just the impression I am getting from your posts. I had a FP3 on my last bike and did the auto tunes like you and didn't seem to have any of these issues, actually I thought it was incredibly straight forward. On this bike I ended up with a power vision for no reason other than to try something different. The only thing I can think is that you are messing around with it too much and changing things that should be changed, or you aren't flashing the auto tune correctly, something along those lines.

So took another ride today,my idle is around 1000-1100,I think I was around 900-1000 before I installed the fp3.

I also notice @60 mph in 6th gear cruising along my rpm is steady 2000 rpm normal ? if I shift down to 5th and cruise along i'm @ 2000 rpm also seems to be the same in 4-3-2 cruise along and its 2000 rpm.

So I have a feeling this normal,but could swear I cruised along @ 1000 rpm before fp3.

Also today after stopping ,started it and felt it was going to stall gave it some throttle and she came back fluke ?seemed alright after and seems to take a little more gas,.

waiting on my ac and then will do an auto tune.Comments appreciated .
The other thing that I am having a hard time understanding is that it is physically impossible for the FP3 to change your RPMs in 6th gear at 60 mph. If your RPMs were 2K at 60 before the FP3, they're going to stay there after the tune. If you down shift to 5th and stay at 60 mph, its also impossible for your rpms to be at 2000.

Do you know anybody local to you that has a FP3 that could come over and help you out a little bit?

I’ve had my FP3 for over a year now (about 10,000 miles) and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!

My 2014 Iron 883 had crazy decel popping and ran hot after Stage 1 upgrade (Vance & Hines twin slash slip ons and Screamin Eagle heavy breather.) Installed the FP3 and VOILA no more popping, engine runs cooler and throttle response is AWESOME. The acceleration is also much better! It’s like I have a different bike. I absolutely love the way the bike runs now. Vance & Hines has really improved the software over the past few years. I HIGHLY recommend the FP3!

Another happy FP3 user. Installed it on 2014 Dyna with Screaming Eagle Stage 1 and SE slipons.
Downloaded canned map. Big improvement. Then autotuned for 600 miles varying speeds and RPMs. Applied several tunes until it ran the way I wanted without any decel popping. Then flashed the final tune
Have not had a problem since. Nor have I done Stage 2.

Maybe the secret is to not do too much to your bike. Stick with the badics.
