your security system is a joke that has a lot of potential of causing you a problem at some point
I'm not for or against the security system, but this post reminded me of this others post from a few months ago

Bike lock was NOT ENOUGH!!!!!

To each is his own.....I have the security system without the horn part and have had it since 2011 when I got the bike and I prefer it. My theory with theft is make it as hard as you can for them and hope they will move on to something else.

Removing the TSSM and replacing it with a non-security TSM is a simple process, takes about 40 minutes, and 30 of those minutes are spent watching the clock. The last few bikes I have removed security systems from I was able to find a TSM on eBay for around $60. Make sure you get the right part number for your bike, just because it looks the same does not mean it is the same.

There are very good write-ups on this forum that cover it, or you can refer to your service manual if you have one. If you do not have a service manual, I highly suggest buying one. As the previous posts have mentioned, most of us feel better with added security.. However if you do want to eliminate it, it's easy.
