Currently ride a Street Glide and love it, but due to a job relocation I may be in the market for a second bike/bar bike. I don't want another bagger - I'm thinking something in the old-school stripped bobber or chopped look, preferrably a few years old to save some $$ would be nice, too, but there are so many choices out there I'm feeling kinda swamped.
So - looking for pros/cons of Dynas/Softails and recommendations on what to look for in a second bike. Comfort isn't a huge priority since I won't be making long trips on this one (hopefully). Advice?
Only know of one current Harley with bob as in bobber in its name. Hell thay are pretty affordable new with 103s and six speeds. But my local cl has a few older ones available yours might to.
Btw lovin mine and its perfectly comfortable for long rides if you dont need bags or more tunes than wind and pipes.
I have an Electra Limited for when the wife wants to tag along or for long rides. I have a Dyna Superglide that is a scream to bomb around town or for rides up to 150 miles. Had a Sportster and that was just a bit too small. Had a couple of Softails before I got the Electra. Nice bikes but you can't go wrong with a Dyna for a second bike.
Depends on what look you want in the end. Almost any Dyna will fit your bill. That is one of the outstanding things about a HD, you can do anything to it and parts are easy to find.
Good luck on your venture. Keep us updated.
jjtroutbum - if I'm not mistaken, 2014 has the Street Bob and the Fat Bob available...but it was the Street Bob that was on the floor at a local dealer that got me looking down this road; had the red laced wheels like your sig pic that really caught my eye. Love the look of yours, too - damn, just so many choices! First world problems, huh?
I was in almost the same situation. Working in FL on an extended assignment and my RKC is in NC. Wanted a bike here to ride to work and run around on weekends. Found a left over '13 Fat Bob at the local dealer. Almost 4k off the sticker.
