Default lowering my 2013 street bob

I have a 2013 street Bob the rear shocks are stock and I want to lower them to set my fender closer to my tire. How exactly do I do that or do I need new shocks? Any recommendations?

You can buy shorter shocks, a bunch of companies make them, such as burley, and progressive, to name a couple. The other option is to get adapters, that will relocate the factory shocks farther back on the swing arm. Its a bolt on deal, and the less expensive route to go. Keep in mind though, lowering will generally give you a harsher ride, and you will lose handling, by decreasing the lean angle of the bike. Set aside a budget for pegs and pipes, causing your pretty much guaranteed to scrape em!

I know some people will disagree, but I'm speaking from experience. I'm 6 ft, 235 lbs and this worked perfectly for me. I removed the shocks, took em apart, and cut 1 complete coil, which is almost exactly 1" from each spring. Put em back together and rode. I have not once bottomed out, and it dropped the bike about 1.25-1.5 inches give or take. Not a difference whatsoever in the ride quality. And it's free!

Old School !

I did this years ago with a car of mine, never even crossed my mind to do it with a bike.

You can also check out Lowering Blocks at this LINK.

There are a lot of people that use this as an alternative.

On your sight it states the 1" lowering blocks work for riders up to 200 lbs. I'm over 2 bucks and was wondering what will happen if I use them?

I'm 150 lbs with stock street bob shocks and have bottomed it out. Do you mean bottom the shock out, or scrape the frame on a speed bump? I've bottomed the shock several times.

I'm the wrong one to ask though, I want to raise my bike.
