I couldn't find a board here that seamed to specialize in this catagory so I thought I would post my question here,
Where does everyone buy thier riding gear. If you don't know I recently bought a new bike. I am in the market for some Harley gear, helmet, gloves, boots and a vest. Do you guys give you business to your local dealer or a special internet site? Is there such a thing as a good really good deal on new harley gear or is it pretty much all the same price?
Thanks, I should have my bike next week, can't wait.
Different gear from different places. Here is where I got some of mine
Jacket from FoxCreekLeather.com
Boots from LaPoliceGear.com
Helmet from carbonfiberhelmets.com
Gloves from Jafrum.com and Cabelas.com
Rain gear from Gander Mountain
Patches from RudeDogLeather.com
Helmet from the local Honda dealer
Hudson Leather jacket and chaps from local Indy. shop
Rain suit on sale from Harley dealer
Boots are plain steel toed black work boots
Shop for quality for the lowest price, don't worry about the brand.
I'll throw in another vote for Fox Creek Leather.
Their jackets are bulletproof, they are great to deal with and give a lifetime warranty.
Not cheap - but still not as expensive as some of the HD branded stuff which imho - is crap.
Jacket at the H-D shop about 8 years ago
Chaps -California leathers 8 years agonot sure if they are still in business either
Boots- Any western, saddle or tack shop or even Mills Fleet Farm.
Vest- from Sturgis about 7 years ago
Gloves- fingerless at HD sale- Leather snowmobile gauntlet gloves for cold weather(less than 40 degrees)
Oh yeah I forgot my helmets, Half helmet was a $30 clearance, Full face from local motorsports place, (not H-D), I'm looking at one of the ACC carbon fiber halfs for this year though.
Bought some stuff from bransonwholesale.com, and would recommend them if you don't want to spend too much. There stuff is very good quality for the price.
