I call my local HD dealership and asked how much to remap my SB after I do intake and exhaust. They said $225. So for a little more can't i get fuel programmer? And if so, how do they work? Meaning how much do I need to know to use one. FYI I live in Cali not sure if that matters when it comes to programmers.

legally fuel processors must be CARB approved. there are a few companies that wont ship to cali but most everyone ignores that law.
personally i ordered a powervision from fuel moto. tell them the parts they'll send you a map and then let it autotune the rest of the way. a professional can get more out of it than the basic autotune but its 95%. its pretty simple to operate.
There is no "California" version of Power Vision, not yet anyway. It'll cost you $400-$450, but you'll never have to pay the dealer for a remap again, and it will autotune your specific set up in your riding environment. You can also use it to calibrate your speedo which you'll need to do if you change pulleys or switch to a chain drive with different gearing. AND, if you decide you want a dyno tune down the road after some future engine mods, you'll need to buy a tuner anyway.
I recommend buying a Power Vision now and save yourself some money in the long run while getting better results than some canned dealer map.
Thank you for the info and advice. I am going to get the power vision. Sense there is nothing wrong with my bike the way it is, I will just keep saving.
