So I took her out today for her first group run of about 200 miles. About 125 in I start to get miserable. I'm running the stock seat and my tailbone is riding on the incline that goes up to the passenger seat. Moving up makes me feel like I'm riding on the tank, and there ain't no movin back. That last 75 miles gave me plenty of time to think about a new seat. I'm considering one of the spring solo seats as there won't be anything contacting my tailbone. Is there a seat that will just let me move back a couple of inches more? I've got forward controls, but I like to stretch out a little bit. Two or 3 more inches would be perfect (I know, I know, that's what she said ).
Just installed the sundowner on my 2014 low rider. what a difference, much more comfort for rider, and my wife will go with me now due to much more comfort for passenger also.
Depending on the rider finding a out of the box or off the self seat that fits you is rare.
You can find some that are good, but that is not fitting the rider.
The only real way is to have one that is close to your liking is to have it redone or made for you.
I have had several good seats off the self but they do not fit me per say. I have had 2 fixed for me. My last one I really wanted to keep and take with me after 60,000 miles. It was so me.Fixing to have 2 more done. If I can not do 1,000 miles in a seat I need something different. When I ride I really go for a ride.

Thanks for the advice, guys. It looks like seat opinions are like a**holes, everybody's got one. I've looked at the Saddleman as well, and that may well be in the cards for me, I'm just not crazy about the road sofa look. But much more of this and I won't give a damn what it looks like! I just shot off an email to Mean City letting them know exactly what I'm looking for. I have yet to hear anything bad about them, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'll let ya know!
Good luck! If that doesn't work out there are many others that can customize at reasonable prices. I just ordered a C and C seat that I hope to receive by Wednesday. Intended to push back 1.5 inches and down an inch
I'm on my 5th saddle now. So far the best one for me has been the Mustang Vintage solo. Sits me back much more than stock and way more comfortable. They say you can't put a price on comfort, but my 4 extra saddles say otherwise! Good luck on your hunt!
I'm really happy with my Mustang Wide Vintage Solo. Its a little on the bulky side, but I can't imagine finding a more comfortable saddle for a Dyna. I'm set up with forwards and 12" apes, and I can go hours at a time with no issues.
I got a Sundowner two-up for my '12 Wide Glide that is SUPER comfortable. Went on a trip from MA to IN in May and the ONLY part of my body that was not screaming at me was my butt! I am actually about to buy a Mustang Vintage Solo, since I don't ride 2-up, and for the look I want to go forward with, a solo is what I want. My husband has had great luck with them on various bikes so Im hoping I won't be disappointed.
Oh - and as for the Sundowner - the 2-up raised me UP significantly (I had to put lowering blocks on my bike to compensate since I'm short, lol). I personally do not feel it moved me forward or back at all. Not sure if the solo version of the Sundowner does or not.
