ahhahaha... you can say that again. but then I guess I enjoy having good communication with my wife. It also makes it so I don't have to ask her permission I just tell her what I want to do and she don't get pissed. It's called Respect... you should try it sometime then they won't be pissed at you when come home drunk lookin for action... and you might get some LOL
Shoot... I was hoping you wouldn't say that. I really want the SE IIs because I know they sound good. And I like the way they look, plus I found a used pair that are in perfect shape and cheap to!
I would think a "properly tuned" motor is less damaging to the environment than something that hangs out on either extreme... Obviously the raw fuel spewing hydrocarbon smog machine isn't what you want and neither is a leaned out equally inefficient stock HD. Figure it this way, if it's "stock" it's not "properly tuned" and therefore runs HOTTER, which if nothing else cause the internal lubricants to break down (OIL) sooner which in turn creates even more heat and friction thereby reducing the interval at which the OIL has to be changed and the fuel mileage will also be reduced - meaning you end up consuming moreGAS and OILrelative to the amount consumed with a "properly tuned" motor.Go with the pipes and a/c!
If that rationalization doesn't work for you then it's hopeless and you're borderline "tree hugger".
Somebody give me the Cliff notes. I started to read the originial post, but didn't have time. I needed to get outside to see if my oil pan had finished dripping all my used oil out in the weeds.
Cycle- ed..... I am trying to understand your concern. I think it is great to respect your wife. But I think you are going overboard worrying about your carbon foot print. Here in Ohio we have gotten used to the pollution. Remember the 50's when we were the Industrial heartland. Breathing pollution makes you strong. I think you folks in Callyfornya have alot more serious things to worry about.
Either way I hope you get it worked out but try not to worry so much about things. Eventually Callyfornya will be on the Ocean floor anyway, enjoy the environment while you can. Good luck !....CJ
Born on Earth Day huh.
Just how bad do you think a well tuned motorcycle can contribute to the overall pollution? I read somewhere that a freighter coming into San Pedro produces as many hydrocarbons as 300,000 cars.
There is no significant environmental benefit from enforcing pollution laws on motorcycles. CARB just wants to regulate, and eventually, control and collect revenue on all vehicles.
