heavy thoughts!
There was a study, I believe by the USDA, determining that a relatively small herd of cattle, maybe 15, (I read that a few years ago and don't remember for sure) will produce enough methane to heat an average farmhouse if there was a way to capture it. Since I live about 1/2 mile from a dairy and a feed lot, I can attest to the accuracy of that.
Any serious student of geology can tell you that tropical plant fossils have been found in core samples taken in arctic (ardik to the unwashed) regions. While continental drift could be the reason for this, it certainly looks like the globe has been warm at times when there have been no people around to "cause" it.
Lightning generates far more ozone than anything man ever made. Volcanic action produces more atmospheric sulfer in one shot than all the diesel engines that have ever run. Cows, wild animals, plants and plankton (look up red tide) fill the air with huge amounts of unburned hydrocarbons and CO2. It is pure vanity for mankind (as represented by Gore) to stand there and say, "Yup, I did all this".
Now, as for "global warming" (as I look out the window the snow on the ground just over 100 miles north of the Mexican border), Anyone remember the big "neuclear winter" scar a decade or so ago? The theory that global war might cause so much dust in the air that sunlight would be blocked and the world woud freeze over? Well, think about this. What if all this "clean up the world" BS causes the opposite effect and we all get fried by the EPA summer?
when Al Gore's 20,000 sq ft home requires more energy and contributes more to emissions than 10 average homes.
it looks likea big deal until you do the math.are you against gore or big houses? because he's not consuming more energy per sq. ft. than you are.wonder how big the houses of all the oil tycoons are?
im not defending gore's lavish lifestyle, but do we have to be so dramatic.
i burn wood, coal, plastic, ect,, what ever i can find to heat my house, i do it not to pollute the air, but to stay warm. it's all i have.
