wow, amazing statistic, i wonder if the average home is, oh i dunno, somehwere around 2000 sq ft?!?
it looks likea big deal until you do the math.are you against gore or big houses? because he's not consuming more energy per sq. ft. than you are.wonder how big the houses of all the oil tycoons are?
im not defending gore's lavish lifestyle, but do we have to be so dramatic.
I'm not being dramatic, I'm just tired of this bulltucky spewed by elistist liberals out there who say one thing and do another.

I am not against big houses. But if his house is 20 times bigger, it doesn't matter what energy per square foot he's burning. He's burning 10 times more than me. Ten times more energy, ten times more pollution. I'm not the one pretending to be a scientist and saying this BS like it's fact. He is. I don't believe in any of this crap. So I don't care if you have ten cars, five boats and an airplane. Never have. But he apparently does.

Read my post. I'm saying he's a hipocrite. Oil tycoons aren't spouting the BS fairy tale thatAl "Chicken Little" Goreis. They aren't telling everyone about this fantasy called "man made global warming" and then using as much energy as ten homes. Over 50% of electricity is still coal fired so hypocrite Al is spewing far more pollution just by heating and cooling his home than many of us. Walk the walk, that's all I'm saying. If you believe in this myth of "man made global warming" then quit telling the rest of us what we have to do while you're not doing a damn thing.

I say, you want a big SUV? Buy it. It's your money. You want a big house? Great. Live there and pay the extra money it costs to operate it. He's the one getting on his pious soapbox and then doing the exact opposite of what comes out of his mouth. Not me. The rest of us aren't saying anything. I don't care if you live in a 20,000 square foot home. I do care if you live in a 20,000 square foot home, tell everyone that earth is somehow endangered by the carbon dioxide man is emitting, and you continue to live in your 20,000 square foot home.

In the grand scheme of all things that emit pollution, motorcycles are insignificant. This "man made global warming" is the biggest socialist/liberal hoax to convince you to buy their snake oil. You're worried about motorcycle emissions when Al Gore's 20,000 sq ft home requires more energy and contributes more to emissions than 10 average homes.

This global warming mantra has become a religion with the environmental wackos. Put down the Kool Aid and realize the earth has been warming and cooling for millions of years. Mars has been warming for quite some time. No SUV's up there. The sun is affecting that planet as well as ours. We contribute about 1% of all carbon dioxide. It won't make a damn bit of difference if this planet is going through a cooling or warming cycle.

And incidentally Time and Newsweek were predicting the next ice age 30 years ago. Scientists were certain the earth was cooling.

This whole thing is bulltucky. A fraud perpetrated to advance the socialist/liberal nutheads way that they think we should be living. John Edwards and his 28,000 sq foot home yapping about saving the planet. Not only are they wrong, they're hipocrites in the worst way.
this is correct what he said.
be a man or be sissy.or sell your harley and get a
50cc scooter.

My .02, is that there is global warming whether man made or natural, probably a combination of both, and we should do what we can, but that being said, riding a bike and doing changes to make it run better is going to be better than riding in your car. Most of the pollution comes from industry and out of our hands anyway.

Pollution comes from industry ... CO2 comes from sea algae and animal waste ... humans create a tiny fraction of CO2.
I'm all for less pollutants and smog ... just hate it when the bull about CO2 gets mixed up in the same debate ... completely different issues. A bike will make less pollutants than nearly any other vehicle.

wow... I mean WOW! I have never heard so much B.S. in my life! I guess I should give a litte back ground of myself... I have 15 years as a horticulturist under my belt, I spent 10 years working in 2 of biggest national parks in the country as a natural interpriter. And I have a vast knowledge of the geological make up of the western part of our country! I won't even begin tear you a new hole to make room for all the b.s. you spewed on that post!
I hope it is as clean and natural in this make believe bubble that you live in... because the way your going you won't have a planet left to breathe the air in your "valley of smoke"... Wow I can barely hold back by disdane for such ignorance!

later!
Damn!

There always have been and always will be, valid points on both sides. Granted, as a society we should do all we can do to curb pollution. We should recycle, we should conserve energy and resources [I do].....that is just being good stewards of what mother earth has provided...and simply taking care of her wild things.

But the greatest pollution threat I seecomes fromindustrial, commercial, commercial transit of goodsandmass transit sources. These things contribute to our pollution issues more than anything else. Thesethings have the greatest impact on the environment, agriculture and the complex natural structure of things that keep this planet in harmony. Big picture.....hit the things with the greatest impact.

A biker having a strong running, free flowing machine or not will have no significantly measureable impact on pollution. Whether to modify your bike to the point that most bikers do is up to you.

Cows do fart a huge amount of methane though.......I grew up on a cow farm...and boy do they fart. Pigs fart also.

Just heard on the news that we have had the coldest winter in many, many years. They actually said how many but, I wasn't really paying attention.

I think that maybe there are too many people out there without enough to do(Al Gore), now he is still trying to tell us how to live. Sort of reminds me of the old saying "Do what I say, Not as I do".
