looking to lower my 06 wide glide. i ride two-up on a fairly regular basis and don't wanna bottom out all the time so i was wondering.....who has their dyna lowered and what has your experience been? i know i have 12.5" shocks on there now (factory) and i figure 11.5 should be ok but what about 11.0"
the bike is never loaded down, no bags or such, just me and quite often....her. i'm 200lbs and she's maybe 115lbs or so.
i've already ordered the progressive suspension fork lowering kit, but with that i can choose between 1", 1.25" and 2" drop so i'll adjust as needed.
I think you could go two inches without having any problem. Even two up, when you shorten them up you also can stiffen it up. I dropped my WG about an inch and a half but, wish I would have gone a little more with it.
got any pics? love to see 'em. i was looking at the new progressive 812's but they only come in 11.0" which would lower me about 2" if i'm not mistaken.
I've used the 11" 412 Heavey Dutys on three bikes now and am picking up my new 07 Wide Glide this weekend. I ordered the 11" H.D. 412's for it Yesterday. Always the first addition along with the Corbin seat.. I onlysaw 11 1/2" in the 418 series reg or Heavy duty if you get a number for the 11" 418 please post. Trotter
If she says, "What's that burning smell" you know you are too low!
All kidding aside, you should be fine with the 11's. I think the wide glide if I remember correctly requires fender modification, meaning you have tonotch the fender if you go too low. My progressives which are 11's, say that in the instructions. Something to take into consideration! I would call progressive to be sure.
I just installed 11" 412's HD on my 07 wide glide. The ride is fine 2 up with them cranked up to 4 otherwise we get residual bouncing on bumps and dips. I removed the lower plastic fender to trim it and just left it out.
