Jimmie, I put Lowrider bars with 6" pullback risers on my 08 FXDC and it made all the difference in the world. I hated the buckhorns with a passion! The whole set up was relatively inexpensive, didn't take much time and I didn't have to switch the cables out. We'll worth it IMO. Good luck!
You don't have the part number for the Lowrider bars do you?
Sure Jimmie, if you'll look in my profile pictures, you'll see the set up from various angles. I'm sitting on the bike in one of the pictures so you can see what my riding position looks like. I'm 6' with regular arm length (34" shirt sleeve). Hope this helps.
Royce, did you have to "fish" wires? My wires seem to be on the outside on my 08 FXDC????? Or am I missing something?
You'll find that the Low Rider bars and the Wide Glide bars are pretty similar in bend, major difference being the LR is 1" and the WG is 1.25" meaning you will need new risers.
On mine, I put the LR bars on first but switch the the WG ones when I put Fat Bob trees on - I used stock Fat Boy Lo risers and they worked great. Keep the wires outside on the LR or put them inside with the WG.
