Regardless of which risers you go with, I think that you'll find the angle infinitely better. It go so bad for me with the buckhorns that I could barely grip the throttle after a long ride. Keep us posted. Good luck!

I went with 8" T-bars on my '09, no worries on cables or wires.
It also allowed me to flip my mirrors below the bars. Helped a lot with buffeting. They miss the tank by about 1/2". I can also see better behind me with them like that.

Once again, thanks for all the comments! WWiiavfan, that is some very helpful info! Coincidentally, I got into some wind buffeting on Saturday, that was absolutely making me miserable. I was actually wishing I had brought a helmet, and suspected that the mirrors may have been at fault. What brand of T-bars are you running?

They were a generic brand I got from Demon's Cycle. They were real low-buck, like $60 or something. I went with cheapies in case I didn't like the T-bar feel. I didn't even hide the wires inside yet for the same reason. I ended up liking the bars, so I may replace them with better quality ones in the future, but for now, they work fine. I'll see if I can dig up the info on them.

I have an 03 super glide and the stock bars were killing my back as well as my hand going numb after an hour or so of riding. I didnt switch the bars, i went with rivco risers which bring the bars up 1 inch and back 2. Made a big difference in comfort for me. The only mod i had to make was relocating the clutch cable to the outside of the handlebars.
