I was thinking about purchasing the Kuryaken L.E.D. Tailight, part number 4970, and I was wondering if anyone else has done this mod/upgrade. I ordered a new plate bracket to clean up the tail of the bike and I think this would be a nice touch. Then I may end up doing the L.E.D. turnsignals as well. Any thoughts or other who have done this? Below are the link for what I am talking about.
I put the low profile smoke tail light cover on with the LED set up and WOW what a difference. I also did the LED blinkers, everyone tells me how well you can see the lights now. Its nice to know people behind you can see ya especially CARS and TRUCKS.
I opted for the Smoked Panacea LED setup (taillight, front and rear turnsignals). You can't go wrong with the Kuryakyn LED's, the look is awesome. On mine, the light for the license plate is yellow as opposed to white.
I used the Panacea led first with the turn sigs built in,and was not very bright in direct sunlight. Switched to the just brake light smoked led and seems to be much brighter.
I used the Kuryakyn deluxe tail light and Harley Davidson's tinted turn signal lens covers. The Kuryakyn face plate for the led lights is silver and you can see the wiring through the cover, so I used flat black paint around the led lights and inside of the cover and also painted the reflectors of the turn signals, see below.

I also have one of these on order, but haven't figured out what to do with the plate yet. What did you do with yours? I was planning on finding a side mount.

My neighbor just bought a SG and it had a side mount bracket that attached to the end of the swingarm rather than below the shocks. It looked good but I am not sure where it came from. Hell, it took me forever to find a bracket to get replace all that plastic my tail light and plate mounts to on my Wide Glide. If I rode a Softail I could find parts all day long.
