Ok, so talked with a friend last night.

He has a street glide, he is buying some other bags and offered me his old stock bags.

so I'm gonna run stock street glide bags on the Cycle Visions bag bar mounts...

Buying some Plasti Dip to paint the gloss black bags to flat black to match bike.

Will take before / after pics for people to see.
adding a road glide full fairing on the front too (quick detach) will post those also.

The CV brackets work with their bags only. Others on the forum have tried the same thing. Check out www.sumac.com. they have ones that work with OEM bags

I'm with JRK on the Plasti-Dip, it has its uses but it's far from ideal on painted parts. Just for ***** and giggles, run by a few paint suppliers and bike shops and ask them for recommendations for a shop to paint the bags. Take them apart yourself, clean them well and gets some prices. Denim black is easy for a skilled painter, doesn't take long to do, or alot of materials.

If you are willing to do the work required to modify the ABS style bags to create the pocket needed to go around the shock and let the bags sit in just the right location so they don't stick out well past whatever fender you run then get the ABS. If you think you can handle fiberglass better, then I would recommend finding some fiberglass bags.

Also, start searching for a nice full fender, a nice stamped metal one at 8.125"-8.25" would be perfect, this are usaully used for pre 06' touring bikes with a 180 tire and require alittle metal work to fill some holes and create new ones.

I used Street Glide brackets with some mods to the bikes struts and created a hanger bracket for the front support. I believe the best way to go about making the cleanest install is to go the way that Dyna_bagger did and modify the parts from a Switchback, this makes them totally removable.

The advantange you have is that there are a good amount of use that all went thru this process around the same time and learned from one another, so there are a lot of use that can provide some good support for you. Good luck with your venture and we look forward to see your progress.

Default Did I miss something?

What set up are you running? Fender, bags and mounts?

If you are handy with a welder you can make your own brackets easy enough, or go with a set of Cyclevisions brackets(kinda pricey)
