I am looking at getting some saddle bags for my 03 lowrider, can anyone give advice on a nice set that can go on and take off quickly and not to much work? I am not much of a wrench. Does anyone know of a good wrench in the Phx, AZ area that is priced right and good, I am sick of dealing with high priced stealers.
If you're going to ride with the bags installed most of the time, an expensive set is definitely the way to go. Boss Bags, Leatherworks, there are a lot of options and sized to choose from. If you're only going to have them on occasionally, a set of Willie and Max $100.00 bags with a set of Ghost Brackets or Easy Brackets will make them a 30-second on or off process.
I don't particularly like the look of my S'Glide with the bags permantly mounted so I got the Willie and Max with Ghost Brackets for the times that I need to carry something more than just myself. They're well made, roomy and lock on to the bike when I'm at work and don't have to take them off each time I stop. Brackets are $149.95 delivered to your door most places and the bags were about $100.00 delivered via E-bay.
Nice leather bags are the way to go if you use them every day, but get pretty pricey for an occasional ride.
wow, have you seen brackets on e-bay for 06 street bob ???

I had a set of Willie & Max Slant bags on my 2004 Sportster.
I mounted them under the seat.
They did not hold very much, flopped around in the wind when empty and didn't look very good but you get what you pay for and for about $130 they did the trick.
I put a set of Boss Bags on my Dyna and I am very pleased with them. I rarely go anywhere without them even though they come off in about 30 seconds each. I used them going to Sturgis, I have carried a 30 pack of beers home as well as three racks of spare ribs and a Pork Picninc/Butt (I like to smoke meat on the weekends). Lastly you can strap a jacket down to the cover of the bags if you fill them up but want to take off your jacket.
They have sat out in the pouring rain for hours on end and they look no worse for ware and they keep the contents dry.
Lastly they were fairly easy to install but you will have to relocate your turn signals.
If you plan on keeping this bike consider the Boss Bags.
Don't know the configuration of 03 lowrider. You may be able to buy a good set of throw over bags. If not Easy Brackets are the best bet to mount and remove bags. If your turn signals don't need relocating the brackets are easy to install, a couple wrenches. Easy to attach to the bags too. JP cycles carry them.
I bought a set of cheap throw over bags from a local shop for 150.They work but if you use them all the time they will ruin your paint.I converted them to easy brackets which are not perfect but a big improvement, they rattle mostly when the bags are empty. For another 20 the leather guy added quick release which I like alot.Harkey "leather lyke" bags will run you over 500 with all the mounting hardware and turn signal relocation.
heres a pic of leatherpros same as boss bags almost except for tag i believe on this model number.2 bros have them company.1 is boss and other is leatherpro
I had Leatherpros on my Sportster and they were easy to get on and off and were lockable. They are sturdy also. They show a guy standing on them while attached. They are expensive, but well worth it. Wish I had thise bags yet, but got a different bike.
