I went with the Sears Craftsman (red) and did the mod. Ive been using it for over 4 years and it has worked just fine. Regardless of what you purchase be sure and use the locking bars and strap it down

Put it on a J and S, it's not falling over.

Ditto on the J&S. No need to tie it down. However, you still need to be real careful how you position the J&S under the bike as that oil pan and all sorts of frame contraptions can get in the way. Real pain actually if you ask me, but once you get it up there, your scoot ain't going anywhere.

I picked up a set of these scissor type jacks. I use them to work on the bike as well as store it for the winter. Really stable, they lift over 1000 lbs, and raise to about 16" or so.
Use one or both.

I will have to search around to see if I can find some pics, I do not have the bike right now to take pics. I swerved to miss a deer back on July 11, hit the ditch and ended up spending 5 fun filled days in two Montana hospitals. I have almost almost finished healing, but my bike is sitting at a HD dealer up here. It took them almost 2 months to get it transferred up here and I am still waiting on whether they are going to repair it or write it off.

The jacks work great, extremely stable.

DO NOT waste your money on the Harbor Freight High Position Motorcycle Lift. I honestly do not know how there are 55 reviews and 4.5 stars. The arms flex like crazy with my ~685lb Wide Glide on it. I have to have another person with me to lift the bike and I also use a floor jack to help support the front arm and stabilize/level the bike.

I guess my question would be how does the J&S pick the bike up level without an adaptor when mine and the others mentioned can not? Is it wider or narrower than mine which is 15" wide from outside of each pad to pad and each pad is 3" wide.
