Default Air Cleaner

Just looking for some opinions on whats a good air cleaner for the dyna?
Looking into a screaming eagle heavy breather or perhaps s&s teardrop...
Looking for best of both worlds performance and looks

Take a look at DK Customs range of air cleaners. Better performance and cheaper than the Screamin Eagle options.

I like the heavy breather myself. It's snorkel intake swings out of the way of my knee and it makes three more horsepower than the stock, at least that is what happened on my dyna.

Yup DK has a few nice set-ups. They are real good at putting components together that work together well!

I run an arlen ness big sucker i got years back. What I like most about it is it is small enough not to hide the jugs, yet open enough for my build to breathe

All the better known high capacity air cleaners will flow more air than your engine can use, even if you've had engine work done. Thus, the choice of which a/c to buy really comes down to looks, and to a lesser degree, ergonomics. Some air cleaners are thicker than others and may hit your right knee, still others, like the heavy breather, turn forward and provide more knee room.

I went with http://www.figuremachine.com/product...w-vision-5.php for my Street Bob.

Personally, I love the look and the bike loves it too! I've gotten a few compliments on it too.

There's so many out there, I think it all comes down to what YOU think looks good and what's comfortable: as in, you don't smack your knee on it constantly.

Default rain

anything that allows your bike to get caught in the rain, I don't get a lot of the "cool looking" open to the elements filter designs.

I've never really had a problem with that. There were more than a few years my only transportation had 2 wheels. Several hundred miles in the rain, rode home in sleet, etc.

Had one bike, where the water would drip off the tank, and right onto the element. No problem.

YMMV,

I've ridden in heavy rain with my ness BS without issue, when the engine sputters you have to slow it down a little beyond that it gets to the point it's raining so hard you can't see 40 feet ahead, it's time to pull over cause it's just getting dangerous. And for the record I have gone 4 and five hours in heavy rain because I just wanted to get somewhere without delay!

I've ridden many hours in hard driving rain and not once has water entering through the high flow air cleaner been an issue. And I don't use a rain sock/pre-filter.
