Can an air filter that allows more air than the bike use be a problem? I went to Performance Machine Max HP had dyno'd, now it's running hot, getting decel pops and exhaust valves are white from heat. Do you think bad Dyno or could air filter contribute to that? Acting like if I had air intake leak because so much air is going in?

Old thread, but a good tune should correct that. You adding an a/c is letting more air in, now you need more fuel to compensate. HD runs lean from the factory as is, doing an incomplete stage one just makes it worse

They should have sorted that stuff out during the dyno tune.
Most of the time, the air filter won't be changing air flow anyway. Except at wide open throttle (or close to wide open throttle), it's the throttle blade that restricts airflow, not the air cleaner.

S&S Stealth, works great for me so far. I have a rain sock for it but I only used it once, rode in rain a few times without the sock and no issues.

Default more oiling?

Does the filter being exposed cause it to require more frequent oiling? I had one on a sportster that became dull and dry looking really fast.

Yes. Driving in rain will wash some of the oil through to the engine, taking some of the trapped dirt along with it.
