The original design was intended for FX/FL swingarm models and people over the years starting using these on Sportsters. Most people buy these for a lowered stiff look to prevent from bottoming out as with many other non heavy duty models.

These shock absorbers have chrome plated springs, adjustment cam covers and eye
bolts. The hydraulic units have full-travel hard chromed piston shafts for durability.
Fully adjustable using standard shock tools. SOLD AS PAIR
The below shocks will lower the motorcycle approximately 1-1⁄2”. NOTE FOR BIG TWIN:
When installing shorter shock absorbers, the tire-to-fender clearance should be
checked.
