Default Module Identification Help Needed

I need some help identifying an electronic module mounted on the bike I just bought. The bike is a 2007 FLSTSC Springer Classic. I haven't had a chance to pick up an owner's manual or service manual yet, although from looking at images of other bikes of that year I do not believe it is a stick item.

The module in question is mounted on the frame downtubes where there is a piece of metal welded between them, just below the neck. Tracing back the wiring on the module it goes up into the instrument panel/dash. There was nothing like this on my old bike, although this is considerably newer. There are no markings or labels on the module. On the one side of the module there is a red LED indicator lamp.

I was going to mount a highway bar on the bike Sunday, and this module was in my way. I am wondering what it is and if it is something I am keeping or not (there are a lot of add-ons that are not to my liking that are being traded out to something more my taste). Any help identifying it would be appreciated.

OK, I had an epiphany as I was typing up my question, and upon further investigation I think it may be the amplifier for the Cycle Sounds speakers that are installed on the bike. Could someone please confirm this?
