Default ecm fuse blows 2007 softail helo

the other day i left the house and 2 blocks from home the bike quit. After inspecting the fuses the ecm fuse was blown. tried to replace and it blows right when you turn on ignition switch. have disconnected fuel injectors, cps, o2 sensors, fuel pump, stator, bypased ignition switch with jumper, bypased run switch, replaced system relay, tried my buddys ecm out of 2007 touring bike and it still blows. The odd thing is that if you turn the ignition switch on with ecm fuse out, wait a few seconds and put fuse in i can hook up with tts and ecm is fine. what is happening the first few seconds when you turn ignition on that is blowing the fuse? i am so confuses?? i am not very good at electrical stuff but i did check all the wires out of ecm plug with ohm meter and the only ones showing ground were the one that were supposed to show ground.
thanks in advance for any help

If i unplug system relay or ecm fuse does not blow. I dont think it has to do with ecm because i tried buddys ecm with same result. Can some one tell me what the system relay does? I know there are very smart guys on here because i have solved other problems by reading here. Please help! Totaly lost on this!!

The system relay provides power to the fuel pump and injectors.

Looking at the wiring diagram…

There is constant power supplied to terminal 30 of the system relay, this wire also branches at the relay and runs to the ECM (ECM constant power), Blue/Gray wires.

We can eliminate these (Blue/Gray) wires because if there were a short to ground anywhere in these wires, the fuse would blow as soon as it was installed, no matter what the switch position.

The wire coming from terminal 87 on the system relay (Yellow/Green) sends power to the fuel pump (through the fuel pump fuse) and also sends power to the injectors and the ignition coil.

This wire (Yellow/Green) is energized when the ignition switch is turned on, and this is when the fuse blows...

Try this:

Switch the engine kill switch on the handlebar to the off positon, then turn on the ignition switch, does the fuse still blow?

i don't have the schematic in front of me, but it sounds like a short to ground on the power side, the reason they use a power relay is that the ecm can control the power output [switch on and off] but with low current, and they use the relay to flow large current, the ecm usually supplies the ground side [example : power flows from the battery positive to the injector [load] and the ecm completes the circuit by grounding it [this is over simplified]

So if your blowing a fuse, you need to trace "that complete circuit" from the load to the battery. in your case ECM circuit,

Thank so much for replys. Fuel injector wires got pinched behind bracket that connects heads and holds horn. I am so stupid!! Ran great for 1000 miles then wires couldnt take it anymore. I need to be more careful!!!
Thanks again again and again guys....
