Default Horn Question

My bike is a 2014 FXDF Fat Bob.

I am about to fit a Stebel Truck Horn. On the back of the horn box, there are two wiring options - one for hot to the horn button and one for ground to the horn button. So before I go cutting things and messing stuff up, does anyone know if Harley uses hot or ground to the horn button?

The horn is not powered by the horn switch, it is powered by the BCM.

You must have missed that when you looked at your wiring diagram...

Ah - that makes sense. I could only find the hot and ground wires to the horn itself, but couldn't find the horn switch itself. So that just goes over CANBUS to the BCM. I now see that "Horn Power" comes out of the BCM.

So in that case, it's as simple as just running the hot and ground from the original horn wiring to the switch side of the relay, then hot (via 20A fuse) and ground to the horn itself.

Thanks!

Correct, use the oem horn wiring to power the relay for the aftermarket horn.
