hey guys
I have a huge problem with the bike not starting sometimes, this all started awhile ago when I took my bike a 2006 softail springer to our local mechanic to install an open primary, bike ran and started great prior to this day. this is why its something he did,, my only explanation is that he did not disconnect the battery as he played with the starter so possibly shorted something out , following day when I went to pick my bike up he says how come your bike does not start sometime? totally shocked by this I told him it was fine as of yesterday, long story short, I have been riding bike for the past year and half with an intermitten no start, found out there is no spark coming out of coil so no start, once it start bike runs great, so I got a friends bike same model same year I switched all parts with his including ECM/TSSM/COIL/Wires/plugs/and also the crank sensor, bike still did the same, sometime no start, while my parts were installed in his bike and bike ran great,,, now I am lost as what to replace to fix it any ideas. is it possible the starter is taking too much juice from the battery so not enough going to coil?
yes starter cranks engine fine, but sometimes no spark is coming out of coil.
is it possible due to harder cranking due to open primary is having an effect on coil voltage?
