I'm trying to find an option to add a set of full size auxiliary lights onto my 80 Sportster. I'm seeing stuff for like 88 on .... but nothing that's listed to fit my 1980.
I'm not looking for anything modern, something oem that looks period correct.
Anyone know of any options?
I had a typo in the thread title but it seems I can't change it XLH

Hi from the UK and welcome to HDF. First find a photo of what looks right. The lamps themselves are almost identical to the latest version you will see on the touring bikes in your dealer's showroom. They can probably be found secondhand without too much trouble. Brackets are likely to be another thing, after all this time. You may be able to adapt a later set to fit, which IMHO is probably your best way ahead. If you want the genuine article you could have a serious search on your hands!
Thanks for the reply. I was also thinking I might have to adapt a similar year/design light to fit.
I'm hoping I can find a find a set of passing lights that would more or less just bolt up, maybe change the wiring terminals or something.
I believe the 1980s have a 35mm fork, but need to confirm that (depending on how they mount that might not even matter)
If I could find something from that general era from an XLH like OEM... I'd be pretty happy.
