fuel pump

Default fuel pump

I have the Fuel pump unplugged and want to know how to multi test the 4 prong leads to the pump... I have a reading on one prong and nothing on the other 3, the one giving me the reading I assume is the one for the fuel gage...I am trying to find the problem and hoping the fuel pump is at fault, cuz I am covered for a replacement at the dealer,. I have pulled and cleaned all fuses just to be sure of and even tho the fuse was good for the fuel pump I replaced it with a new one anyway... I still have no wurr sound from the pump, it did start one and now there is no sound from the pump...

aarcronnie welcome to the forum!

Always post your year and model.

I've looked at a few late model touring schematics and most use y/w wire for power to the fuel level sending unit with a bk/gn ground. The pump is powered by a o/gy or rd/bn wire and it's ground is bk.

On pre 2014 models when the system relay energized it would provide 12v to the fuel pump fuse. if the ECM didn't get a signal from the CKP in 2 seconds it would de-energizer the relay until it saw an input from the CKP, crankshaft position sensor.
