Battery Charging Question
I have an '09 Ultra with a 3 year old HD battery. I keep a charger/maintainer on it every winter. (Which I did this winter) However I noticed that the maintainer charged LED was not lit rather the charging one was. Normally in the spring the charged LED is lit. I checked the voltage of the maintainer along with the current output. Both seem very normal. Took the battery out of the bike and hooked up the charger/maintainer. After a couple days, still wouldn't indicate charged. Took the battery into the HD shop to have it load tested, they said it's good.. Output was charge time 5 minutes.... 373 CCA, 12.51 volts. So I thought OK, something is wrong with my charger/maintainer... Picked up a new one, hooked it up and still the new one will not indicate it's charged. The new one has a readout for percent charged and it stays at 73%
Can there be something up with the battery even though the HD shop load test came back and said that battery was just fine?
