I've been working on this rear fender for the last couple weeks. I chopped 9"out of the center of a stock fender. I'm now running into trouble with signals. There isn't enough clearance between the tire and fender to use the integrated tail light I had. I called Harley and JP for solutions with no luck. I was originally planning on running run brake turn indicators such as those on a 48 sporty but apparently they won't work without the tail light hooked up. I'm really bangin my head here. I live in NY so I have to have signals. I'm looking for a solution that will work with wiring and still have brake and signal lights. Please for the love of god someone chime in with a solution for me lol. Why don't they make a kit that is just a set of blinkers that will plug into the stock harness?!
A side mount maybe? Ny is tough. When you mocked the fender before cutting did you notice it wouldn't fit? You could always make a tall sissy bar with a spot for a stoplight too.

I pretty much flew by the seat of my pants on this one Yamaharley. I just went for the big stuff figuring I'd iron the smaller things out later. There's a million options for universal lighting was just hoping for something I wouldn't have to do much splicing with. I've done a million wire tucks and lots of soldering I like to stick with stock connectors now days even if I have to pull pins. I'm thinking maybe I can pin some aftermarket lighting into my stock connectors once I take a look at the manual.
Don't worry I do that all the time. Figure **** out later hahaha. What year is the crossbones? Pre canbus you can make pretty much anything work with some solder.
It's a 2010. After I stopped being pissed off at this snag I got thinking. shouldn't I be able to buy 3 wire blinkers and pin them into the stock tail light connector? Basically just replace the tail light right? I still am not sure if that will make them do all 3 functions though.
I got it. Used a Harley run turn brake controller. Move tail light connector plate under the seat by the fuse box. Shortened a harness. Still not quite finish need to put it all together nicely. Blue will be for plate. This setup allows you to unplug the tail light
