ABS Switch?
First time poster here, been scrolling for about a year. Thank you all for all the invaluable advice so far! I've searched and have only found that this is quite a controversial topic, but no actual technical advice so far.
I want to be able to insert a "switch" of some kind on my 2013 Harley Street Bob, to enable me to turn the ABS on or off.
I think ABS is great for when I'm cruising or its wet out, so I would not like to delete it completely. However, coming from a 24 year racing back ground, I think that when you start pushing the bike towards it limits, the ABS is down right dangerous. I'm sure those of you who enjoy a more "spirited" ride will agree.
So before I get burned at the stake for this, I know the risks:
- My insurance. I ride with the owner of my insurance company, not a problem.
- I might get sued. I live in South Africa, this is not a concern.
- I might be a danger to others. I'm more of a danger with the ABS enabled, I can assure you.
- The world might come to an end. Also not the worse thing IMO.
I believe since my bike has the CANBUS wiring, its not as simple as putting a switch in line with the fuse.
So if anyone could offer me some advice on the topic, it would be greatly appreciated
