i just had my bike in the shop a month ago, my local harley expert, and he replaced my rear brake light switch, a month ago
1. where is that located? can i do this without bleeding the brakes
also..there is a brake light switch on the handlebar
2. where is that ..can i replace that myself
when the local mech replaced the rear brake light switch, $68, not bad comparing the harley dealer....i just called him, he thinks now its one the handle bar...he said he doubts its the rear....
ok..i went out there not to the bike,,turned on the bike..i pulled the handle bar and brake light worked.....i then depressed the brake lever by the foot pedal, and brake light stays on all the time...looks like the rear brake light switch is bad...i just replaced it 1400 miles ago???
ok..found the rear brake light switch, part of the brake line system...2 wires connect to it.....i called my local harley expert, and he told me to bring the bike in, 2 blocks from me....i took a ride there, and i got the scope....harley has had recall, or something like that on the latest rear brake light switch....that is why mine only lasted one month...my local mechanic was able to install an older brake light switch, though sort of tough to get on i quess.....hopefully my worries are over.....also, my local mechanic said he thought the later switches may be subject to heat
