Smart Security will not arm
I did a little poking around here and on the web, and couldn't find much that told me anything. I have a 2008 FLHRC with the factory security (my first Harley ever!!!). When I **** the bike off, I get the double blinker flash, and the red key symbol comes on and flashes every couple seconds. However. I can have my fob 20 feet or more away, and the ignition still has power when switched on. It will start and ride without the FOB nearby. Also, there is no chirp or warning flash of the blinkers when it is moved without the FOB. When you switch the ignition on, the red key goes away. Am I missing something? I went through the MOM and tried to switch to chirp mode, but nothing happened. Thought maybe it was in transport mode, but nothing I do from the manual changes anything. Any help would be great, even if there is a thread to point me to that I missed in my search somehow. Much appreciated!!!
