Starter engaging while engine's running.
The starter on my '06 Sporty is engaging (or trying to) while the bike is already running. Any suggestions as to where to start looking for problem?

If you look under your left sidepanel you'll find the fuse box.
This area is known to suffer from corrosion.
Ensure all fuses and the sockets they go into are clean.
More importantly, this is where your starter relay( a small rectangular box) is located. Pull the relay out and again check for corrosion.
As the relay itself is fairly cheap, it might be a good idea to replace it and see if that solves the issue.

Corrosion on a fuse is not going to cause this issue.
A chafed wire in the control switch is not going to cause it.
It will most likely be a bad starter switch, a stuck relay, or stuck solenoid.
Does the starter do this all the time?
If you shut off the engine with the ignition switch or kill switch does the starter stop cranking?
