Default Electrical problems

I have an 06 Sportster 883 and the other day I gave it a bath. Now my speedo isn't working, it's not tracking my mileage, and my blinkers don't turn off automatically after making a turn. Anyone have an idea what the problem is or where I might start looking?

Check your fuse box for water. Pull each fuse 1x1. https://www.hdforums.com/how-tos/a/h...rmation-412794

Check the VSS connector on the transmission, the connector commonly gets water trapped in it, disconnect it then clear it out with air compressor hose and then put some dielectric grease in there before you reconnect it.

Before I had a chance to read your reply I searched youtube and found a video about the vss. He recommended replacing it, but I could see that water had got trapped in there and caused some corrosion. I cleaned it out with alcohol and a toothbrush. Works again. Thanks for the info though! I'll have to go back now and put some of that grease in there.
