Hello again...If I keep posting eventually someone might read this that could help me lol...anyway I have located the rear harness schematics from the 2018 and the 2012 rear harness for a touring bike. See pic. I was wondering if I could get your advice if I were to cut the connector for the 2012 that connects to the bike and reconnect it to the harness for the 2018 that goes to the control/3rd light module. What color wires would you connect? I might try re-pinning the connector also.
not sure if anyone is reading these lol. but i repinned according to what I wrote above and had everything working but brake lights. I then switched the red/yel position with the blue/red position with no change. all lights working left turn, right turn, taillights, and 3rd light but no brake... or maybe brake is on all the time idk... please help!
If I re-pin the 2018 connector that connects to the main harness I am thinking this is what I do...please confirm...PLEASE
POSITION 1 - SWAP RED/YELLOW STRIPE FOR BLUE/BROWN STRIPE
POSITION 2 - SWAP BLUE/BROWN STRIPE FOR RED/YELLOW STRIPE
POSITION 3 - SWAP BLUE FOR BLUE/VIOLET STRIPE
POSITION 4 - SWAP BLUE/RED STRIPE FOR BLACK
POSITION 5 - SWAP BLUE/VIOLET STRIPE FOR BLUE/RED STRIPE
POSITION 6 - SWAP BLACK FOR BLUE
Thank you very much for any help you can give me!
I put everything back to this arrangement above... if the tail lights filament in the bulb is the opposite one than the turn signal filament then everything is working exactly correct except no brake lights...i checked fusses and relays and no change...PLEASE HELP
I have no specific knowledge of your issue but wondering aloud that there were logic/architecture changes in 2014 and later for the ecm and it may be possible its not as simple as wiring up newer/older lights to newer/older bikes.

I wonder that same thing. I checked voltage at male plug on bike this morning and everything seems right. I'm going to reconnect 2018 harness tonight and check voltage at other end of harness. other then that I'm out of ideas.
