Voltage Regulator / Rectifier failure
So, I own a Sportster Iron 883 MY2016.
Few days ago I got a red battery light and after a while the bike died.
Went to the dealer and said it was the Rectifier (voltage regulator) and needed replacement.
Any input on what causes this device to go bad? Has anyone had the same issue?
Should I be wary on a thing after the replacement?
Another detail I would like to share is that I had a fuel management device installed a couple of days before that. Could this have caused the failure of the voltage regulator?
Any input is appreciated!
Thank you in advance!
Cheers!

you need to look at the total load the machine is running and allow at least 20% fudge factor to ensure proper charging.
the machine runs off the regulator when the battery is fully charged. things that can effect the unit are bad grounds, bad wiring and a iffy battery. basically anything that offers high resistance to the regulator as the unit will ramp up to over come it.
