I'm looking at the $100 siren for the 19, had great luck with the last one. 14 years.
Wondering what others are doing.
I have the alarm but no audible.
I am having the HD system siren installed today. Nothing will stop a dedicated, sophisticated theft ring; this is why I carry good insurance. But, after an incident a couple of weeks ago, I decided it provides an additional cheap deterrent capability locally and while on local stops. Petty theft and vandalism are unfortunate but a fact of life, particularly in urban environments. FYI: I have a concealed weapons permit so I can protect myself and bike on long trips; don't use it in town or on short local rides.
Installation was a breeze and the system works like a champ. Because of the difficulty removing the battery in the Low Rider to get to the "plug & play" port, I let the dealer do mine. But, it can easily be done as a DIY project in about 15 minutes. Now that I know the trick for getting the battery out, I wouldn't hesitate to do it myself in the future.
