I have a 2007 Dyna FXDL lowrider that has a bad ECM or I have been told because the diagnostic read out says no passcode, I cannot afford a new ECM ($360.00) and pay the dealership 50-100 to program it. I can find a lot of used ECM with the same manufacturer number but none with the same part number. My question is do anyone know of a cross over chart that will tell which year and models will interchange. I do know that unless it is the same year and model as mine it will have to have it re-programed.
Are they mated? I don't know. If not just get another dyna or softail ECM, providing you don't have a stage one, or find one that does.
If you have a SERT they do mate to the ECM. So if you get another ECM you are screwed **** you Harley and other tuners. At that point do you want to spend the money on tuner that replaces ECM. Though is money is an issue, you won't be doing this.
Can't imagine a dealer trying to sell you something you don't need. Right? Sometimes all they know how to do is throw parts at a problem.
Exactly what is the problem with the bike?

It wasn't the dealership that told me the ecm was bad. It was a friend of mine that owns a custom motorcycle shop. I have a lot of strange things happening to my motorcycle. first the turn indicator lights stays on and the signal light stay on but don't blink even when my switch key is not even in the switch, also my speedometer does not work (electric). and my starter will not engage using the start button on the handle bar. even the dealership says they have never seen anything like it. I put a starter push button and it works just fine. the few people I have talked to agrees that it has to be the ECM.

All due respect to all that answered my post but all I'm wanting to know are there a cross over list somewhere that will tell me what year and model of ECM unit that will interchange with my motorcycle.
I don't think such a resource exists. Not just with ECMs but with most other parts. It looks like Ed gave you something to follow up on.
others fit too. The -05c gets you past the first run of ecms that had some internal failures. I can give another pn that works but not home at the moment.
Ok, first off none of the issues that you described are ecm related, looks more like HFSM (Hands Free Security Module) issue not an ECM issue. Turn signals and start both go through the HFSM.
