2019 RGS Electrical/Ignition Issues
I have a real doozie on my hands here. My 2019 Road Glide Special has an electrical issue where after it runs in neutral for a couple minutes the lights and the screen and gauges will start to flicker, the voltage gauge will go up to 16v, then sometimes the bike will shut off.
Regrettably I didn't ride the bike a great deal before I had some modifications done to it. I put different handlebars on it and we swapped out the OEM connectors for the switch packs to the Namz connectors. I then flashed the stereo using the file off of the Harley website so I could get Android auto on there. I also had the dealership do the CVO ignition Flash and I removed the ignition switch. The day I had the dealership do that is where my troubles began.
I was initially convinced it was a bad voltage regulator and when I was testing I was able to see the voltage going up to 16.2v across the battery terminals when she was acting up. I took it to the dealership and they tested the entire charging system and said everything was good to go. They claimed they found a broken connector in the right hand switch pack and that was the problem. So I paid them their 210 bucks and went on my Merry way only to have it start happening again when I parked it in my garage.
I took it back to them and they replaced the voltage regulator and it continued to do the same thing, but they tested the battery at the post and said it was not going above regular voltage anymore. They tried to reflash the ignition, but they said it was doing the same thing. They screwed with flashing the infotainment system, no luck. They ended up getting a two-page long set of instructions from Harley tech support that basically instructed them to unplug and plug in a bunch of stuff and it's no longer occurring. They continue to blame the namz plugs, but i have my doubts there since I've previously used them and they are Plug and Play. I haven't gone and picked it up yet, but I find it highly unlikely that it just cleared up. Anyone seen anything like this? Having something like this clear up just from unplugging and plugging stuff back in?
I fear its a larger issue, as when it was delivered to me with 3900 miles it had a bad battery.
Here's a video of it occurring:
Thanks!
