Bike wont start 012 switchback
I just added new bars and extended the wires. Now I'm having all kind of issues. The bike won't start, the high beam switch won't work and the horn won't blow, I can't get in the test mode for the codes. It seems not to be communicating with the computer. I know it has a can system in it. Can changing the size of the wires or just adding new wire and soldering in between the two original sections leading to the switches have any thing to do with all my troubles ? I have tested the continuity from where I added the new wire and all seems good. I'm stumped. Please help ? One more thing I tested the voltage to the red wire going to the shut down switch and it seems to have battery voltage there But the bike will not even crank.

Yes, those wires are a specific size for a reason and will cause all kinds of hell with can systems, using an actual wire extender with the connectors is a must on those.if you modified the cabling then you will have to replace it, I have seen HD Master Technicians pull their hair out on those wires and connectors.
