I concur with bad brand new battery or did you enesure that you used the brass spacers between the battery posts and the cables? Ok to jump off a car battery just ensure that the car is NOTrunning when you do so, and connect hot direct to battery and ground to a good ground point.
Did you ensure the battery was fully charged first? Try putting it on a battery tender for a day, should make sure they are charged up fully before installing them.
I had a hilarious but frustrating experience at Batteries plus for a customer, sales associate decided to always load test the batteries when the customer gets them without charging them afterwards. Customer of mine got a battery from them and installed it on the bike, the battery was low from the load test. I went to the store with my customer and they tried it again. I stopped them right there and had them do a voltage test and it was down to 10VDC. Salesman didn't load test the next one.
Battery tenders won't fully charge a new battery. Put it on a 2 amp trickle charger, and leave it on until it's 100%, then remove the charger. I don't leave my batteries on a battery tender in the winter. I put it on for 1-2 days a month, then take off.
Maybe you should sell the bike, and let it run free as God intended. Or find excuses to ride.
Okay, this battery I got from Batterymart.com barely cranks over for a second then Click Click Click. WTF! Now what? Could it be my starter? It just barely cranks the motor a little then click click clik. I put it on the float charger for a little bit till it charged it all the way back up then the same thing. Could it be my starter? Also, Can a bike be jumped off of a car battery, or will it mess up my bike? I'v done it before. It worked, but if I remember right it wouldnt crank very fast being hooked up to the car either. Could it be my starter?
Brass spacers go between the cables on the bike and the battery?
Yes if needed to make the cable ends flat against the terminals.. If the ends are at an angle when you put them on then the spacers are required to keep the cables form getting loose and having a good connection.
Brass spacers give full contact from the posts to the cables and will definitely cause you headaches if they are installed incorrectly or not at all. I've seen many a battery terminal melted due to issues such as this.
