Probably not going to be an issue, but I figured to ask here before pulling the trigger.
The place I get my batteries from is out of the 310 CCA one but has a 270 in stock that fits. It doesn’t seem like much, especially since it about never gets into 30 degree temps here and whatever
Just wanted to see if anyone had done so before and/or had adverse effects to report. FYI I don’t have anything added to my Breakout that draws additional power like radios, etc.
270 will crank your bike to start it, certainly more can’t hurt
years ago before batteries improved , the rule of thumb was CCA need to match or exceed CID
Pinto needed 200 , a Coupe D Ville needed 500
accessories that draw when running are not a factor in CCA, that’s a function of the charging system
Note that HD alternator output has steadily risen over the years

Go with the right battery, your starter will thank you for it. Too low CCA puts a stress on the starter as it doesn't have quite enough juice to turn over at the correct speed and will cause it to fail sooner.
